Knowsley Art Glass Ltd is a family run business, established in 1980 you will see from the information on this web site that as well as being Traditional Stained Glass Leaded-Light makers, we also specialise in glass enameling and the reproduction of Victorian Etched glass.

We offer some unique services including copying original hand painted glass and Bespoke Victorian Etched Glass.

All of our work is manufactured to the highest standards, using traditional methods only. We DO NOT use any types of acrylic colour or plastic films.

We have used our knowledge in this field to revive lost skills and developed our ideas bringing us to the forefront of designing and manufacturing decorative glass.


	Below are brief descriptions of all the Decorative Glass types we manufacture.

Stained Glass also known asTraditional Leaded Lights are hand made using different types of textured and coloured glass each piece of glass is held together with milled lead came sections which are soldered together to form the leaded light it is then cemented to make it weatherproof.

Our leaded lights may be supplied single glazed or triple glazed.

Etched Glass (also known as frosted glass, sandblasted glass or acid etched glass), is made by sandblasting aluminium oxide onto glass. We have several standard Victorian etched designs to choose from, all the designs are faithful reproductions.

Acid etched glass is also used in combination with sandblasted glass to create a fully obscure design

	Hand Painted stained glass is made using VITRAUX glass enamels, which are fired in a kiln at melting point. They are the same glass enamels that have been used in ecclesiastical windows (church windows) for hundreds of years. there is no UV failure with the fired enamels that we use.

Silk Screened Glass (Fired Glass Enamel) Using VITRAUX glass enamels fired and fused into the glass at its melting point we have achieved a new concept of stained glass, the design to the left has been silk screened using several coloured glass enamels with shaded and highlighted areas. This has in the past only been achieved by hand painting on to glass.

These panels do not need any type of lead work and can be toughened after the glass enamel has been fired into the glass.

More designs will be available shortly and will be processed to fit the doors we supply.

* All our etched glass and standard stained glass maybe made into double glazed units.

* All our traditional leaded-lights may be encapsulated inside a double glazed unit making them triple glazed.

* We also stock a wide range of obscure and clear float glass, all of which may be cut to size and toughened also made into double glazed units.
